Beyond the visible: the growing challenge of emerging contaminants in the water we use
Keywords:
Emerging pollutant, wastewater, health damageAbstract
Emerging pollutants are a recent concern because the scientific community has limited knowledge of their effects on human health and ecosystems, mainly regarding water pollution. In the past few decades, various technologies have been investigated to eliminate or mitigate water pollution. However, current wastewater treatment plants do not achieve full removal of these pollutants.
