Abstract

The AhR is a protein present in all cells of our organism. Initially, it was believed that its only function was to induce the toxic effects of chemical substances to which humans are daily exposed. Today, it is known to have other functions essential for normal development and the proper function of our organs and tissues. Recent research has proposed AhR as a promising target for biotechnology for the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
