Keywords:
Traditional medicine, tissue regeneration, bioactive compoundsAbstract
This article explores the medicinal potential of Lycoperdon
perlatum, a basidiomycete fungus that belongs to the family Agaricaceae, in wound healing processes, addressing it from traditional knowledge to the most recent advances in the study of its bioactive compounds. Its main bioactive compounds and their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial effects are analyzed. Likewise, its historical use in traditional medicine and its potential in future therapeutic applications aimed at accelerating wound healing are highlighted.
