Biotechnology is experimentation… and theory?
Keywords:
Biotechnology, interdisciplinary, theory and experimentsAbstract
Biotechnology, as being interdisciplinary, works similarly to a machine, where each one of the disciplines that constitute it is a necessary piece to understand a biological system and its complexity. However, the lack of integration between theory and experiments poses challenges in both teaching and research. In this document, both areas are discussed, from the possible causes of the separation between theoretical and experimental formation to the crucial role that the integration of both approaches would contribute to the understanding of biological systems.
