Expired drugs as corrosion inhibitors
Keywords:
expired drug, corrosion inhibitor, sustainableAbstract
Expired drugs are currently a waste management problem, it is estimated that in México alone 12 million expired drugs are not recovered for proper final disposition, generating pollution and, in the worst-case scenario, the rise of a expired drug black market, that puts at risk the population health. Their use as corrosion inhibitors provides an alternative for recycling that also alleviates the demand for new substances that work as corrosion inhibitors of low environmental impact.
