Partners in agriculture: The ABCs of biological control in Mexico
Keywords:
Biological control, agriculture, phytopathogensAbstract
Biological control involves the use of living organisms to reduce or eliminate pests. This technology has become a valuable tool for agriculture, decreasing the use of chemical products which, although effective, have negative impacts on the environment, biodiversity, and human health. In Mexico, there is a clear legislation defining biological control agents, and this approach is implemented with the support of institutions and laboratories, reporting results that are no longer just theoretical but a reality in the field.
